DJEP Introduces Google Analytics
DJ Event Planner has now integrated Google Analytics tracking codes into all of the DJ Website Tools.
Google Analytics is an enterprise-class web analytics solution that gives you insight into your website traffic and marketing effectiveness. Powerful, flexible and easy-to-use features let you see and analyze your traffic data. With Google Analytics, you're more prepared to write better-targeted ads, strengthen your marketing initiatives and create higher converting websites.
To take advantage of this new feature, you will need to sign up for a Google Analytics account. If you have not already done so, visit http://analytics.google.com. Once you determine your site id, go to your DJEP account and click on Website Tools navigation link on the left, and then the Google Analytics link. This is where you need to enter your site id. We take care of the rest by automatically adding the proper code to each of your website tools.

Troy's Software Review: FontCapture
The hardware review featured in the last newsletter was received quite well, so I thought I'd do a quick software review for a product I ran across: FontCapture.
FontCapture allows you to create a font from your own handwriting. There's no software download and install. All you need is a printer and a scanner. Here are the steps:
- Print the downloadable PDF font template form
- Write the alphabet and a few symbols on the form with a Sharpie type pen
- Scan it
- Upload it to their website
- Download the font and save it to your font folder
The process is really very simple. The website will walk you through the entire process. It took me less than 15 minutes from start to finish.
Using your new personalized font is as simple as opening Microsoft Word (or your preferred word processing application) and selecting the font from the font styles dropdown.
As far as ideas for using this:
- Postcards
- Personal Letters
- Enhance your business documents
- DJEP Documents or Emails
- Envelopes - Mailing Addresses or Accents
- Website - Accents
- Social Media
Remember, for web usage you would have to convert your text to an image. Since no one else would have the font installed on their computer, the image based approach would be the only way to make it work.
The are two issues that you need to be aware of. The first is legibility. Is your handwriting easy to read? If not, then this would not be a good solution for you. The second is, how carefully you fill out the form. Although there are some sizing lines on the font template form, my uppercase letters ended up only being a little bit bigger than my lower case letters.
The best part of this software is that it is FREE. There don't even appear to be any ads on the site.
