Are Your Clients Using DJEP To Plan Their Events?

DJ Event Planner offers many features, including event management, website tools, document creation, outbound emails, and much more. One of the major features that DJEP users sometimes miss or don't take advantage of are the online planning tools for clients.

Generating A Username and Password

When you add an event to the DJEP system, a username and password is automatically generated for each new client. The username can be randomly generated or it can be the client's email address. This setting is found here:

Setup -> Application -> General

The assigned usernames and passwords can be updated from the client information page. Each username must be unique in the DJEP system, so you can only use a particular email address for one client. Once the client logs on to their planning account, they can change their password, but not their username.

Assigning Planning Forms

At the very bottom of the Add/Edit Event form is a section called "Event Planning". This is where you can assign the proper planning forms:

  • Event Activities Form - This is the primary planning form for your clients. The majority of the planning questions should appear here.
  • Additional Planning Forms - This is for extra planning forms like: Love Story Questionaire, Trivia Questions, Ceremony Planner, and Checklists.
  • Special Songs - Your clients can pick songs for their spotlight dances. A wedding, for example, would include songs like these: First Dance, Father Daughter Dance, Mother Son, Wedding Party, and Last Dance.
  • Timeline - This allows your clients to put together a timeline for their event.
  • Names Form - Automatically assigned for event types of your choice. This is for wedding based events.
  • Requests - Automatically assigned

All of the planning forms are customizable. You can select which questions to ask and which special songs to include. You can even provide customized suggestions and more information popup windows to further assist your clients.

How Clients Log On

There is a DJEP DJ Website Tool called "Client Logon". You should integrate the logon form into your website or link to the logon page on your website. This will allow your clients to go to your website as a starting point, but logon on the the DJEP server to plan their event. Another important note about the client logon is that you and your employees can also log on through the client logon form.

One Last Thought About Online Planning

Please note that we do not recommend online planning as a replacement for telephone or face to face planning sessions. Online planning should merely be a tool to enhance your pre-event preparation.

Training and Certification For Mobile DJs

THE FAME DJ SCHOOL is planning a tour of several major US cities in 2009. They are offering the complete FAME DJ school certification at over 70% off it's current LIVE class prices. You and your staff can get certified to a level of excellence our industry has not previously offered.

In addition, the F.A.S.T. Fame Advanced Sales Training will be offered on the third day at 1/3 the normal rate. FAST will show you where your sales can be improved, generating much more income.

Three days in the middle of the week, (no weekends) local hotels keeping your expenses down, and tremendous comradery with some of the most experienced instructors in the industry.

New Wishlist Rating System for DJEP

DJ Event Planner is a user-driven software application. The features we develop are primarily based on user suggestions. Over the years we have received in excess of 1,000 suggestions for improving the software. We have already implemented several hundred of these suggestions and look forward to implementing many more.

Because we receive so many requests for new features, we needed a way to determine how important each one is to our users. This will help shape our development priorities. We just finished developing a system to do this. It is called: The Wishlist Rating System.

The Wishlist Rating System is integrated into the DJ Event Planner support forum. Any post in the Wishlist section of the forum will automatically have the Wishlist Rating System rating selector appear at the top of the post. You can rate the feature request on a scale:

  • 5   Critical - not having this feature is a serious impediment to my business
  • 4   Very Important - not having this feature is a hindrance
  • 3   Important - having this feature would make my life easier
  • 2   Somewhat important
  • 1   Would be nice, but no rush
  • 0   This request can be accomplished with a workaround or alternative solution
  • -1   This is a valid request, but not very important
  • -2   This request is not important and should be very low on the priority scale
  • -3   This is a ridiculous request and should be ignored

You will be able to rate feature requests posted by yourself and other users. You can only vote once for each wishlist item.

Please note that a variety of factors go into the development schedule of DJ Event Planner. We will be unable to accommodate all feature requests but will most definitely be using this new system to determine where we should focus our development energy.
